down in the dumps

This is a woe is me blog post and might get deleted.. it might not.

The tiredness I am feeling is my own fault. I drank Mountain Dew too late. And I ignored a prompting to try to sleep about 3 hrs before I actually did. Looking back on last night, I'm ashamed that I ignored a prompting since its the first one I've felt in a while (or recognized).

Should have listened because Cayden is sick today. Like fever, laying around, not being able to aim his pee, throwing up apple juice and stomach acid cause he either had no energy to eat his breakfast or couldn't - sick. And I just don't know how to handle a sick kid and a rambunctious almost 1 year old.. Especially now in a house, where I don't want Creighton playing upstairs in all the boxes but I don't want Cayden downstairs because the couch and his bed are too far from the toilet. But my bed is feet from our toilet. Seriously I'm having doubts of how good of a mother I really am especially since I gagged just hearing him gag.

Now on to my other depressing news.. moving into the Jordan school district sucks! They do things too different and Cayden might not get the help he needs. Sucky!!!!!! They base off if he needs to be evaluated on a QUESTIONNAIRE!!! Seriously?!?! I wish we could have found a house right by his Preschool so I would know for sure he'd continue to get the speech therapy he truly needs. Frustrating!

Hopefully this all sounds somewhat intelligent since I taped it super fast to get my feelings down before either boy starts freaking out. Made me feel better though!

BIG MOVE DAY!!!!!

Well today is the day we're moving to our house!! So excited!! And a little tired since we were doing a LOT of last minute packing and we STILL have stuff.. ugh! Hopefully our house won't be as cluttered!

So glad we have the Benson family to come and help! Wish I had my family here too cause I love and miss every single one of them!!!!!! But its okay.. At least we have a TON of help. Six definites and 2-3 maybes! Very lucky to have willing family! Makes things easier!

We pick up the U-Haul at 8! Which is less than an hr! Crap.. better stop blogging and start finishing the little stuff before the boys wake up! :):)

Yay for moving day!!!!

(Oh yeah... my awesome Father in law brought over his industrial carpet cleaner on Thursday! And he decided to go back to the house yesterday to do the whole house! We just wanted the boys (and the toy) rooms.. And he put in the kitty door we wanted in a door downstairs! Awesome!!)

Playroom decals (kinda long)

So we're actually going to have a playroom in our house!! :):) And I'm sooooo excited to have a place for all the toys!!! Like I said before, all the toys and everything are centered around the TV room area.

But I want to decorate!!! Here are some wall decals that I WANT WANT WANT!!! hahaha... I'm a little excited about decorating, can anyone tell?! We got this GORGEOUS paint color for stuff! and we're going to center our decor around that color and colors around it.. SO excited!! We're actually painting tomorrow!! Loooove it! anyway.. back to the playroom decals..

(I love ETSY!)

LOVE the giraffe and monkey!! (have ya seen the blog header? haha) I've ALWAYS loved monkeys! Never could find baby blankets and such for Creighton.. now its EVERYWHERE! Anywhoo.. I don't like the monkey in the decal but I love the one in the blanket! :) Its from  THIS shop from Etsy

LOVE this one!! The Etsy shop has a ton of options.. but I LOVE the owl the most! so cute! and the tree is AWESOME! And the bear is adorable.. but giraffe and monkeys don't go with the bear.. haha forest and jungle don't mix ;)

This is SO cute! Love the owls!! From here
Same Etsy shop as the above one.. SO cute! minus the flower in the monkey's ear! I have boys! haha

LOOOOOVE! The elephant and monkeys in this.. I think i'd get the giraffe from the first one and add it to this one!! Love it! The shop has LOTS of cute stuff!

I might pick and choose from different Etsy shops.. There is probably SOOO much more! but I need to get going.. Soo.. opinions! please! :)

Speaking of Addiction... and the solution..

...awkward.. haha that title sounds bad but I need to go to Facebook Anonymous! Ever since getting our awesome new phones with internet and unlimited web, I've been on Facebook way too much. This is why I got rid of my Facebook account 5ish yrs ago! And why I was skeptical about getting another one. But I love staying in contact with family and (old and new) friends. So I'm not even close to deleting it BUT I'm backing off and toning down the openness of what I write. That's what a blog is for right? Haha.

I've just realized (well I have for a while but just now letting myself admit it) that I need to reprioritize my life. I think having a house is going to help in so many aspects of our lives. In our apartment, everything is centered around our front room. TV, toys and eating all seem to happen in the same area. We didn't utilize our table the way it should be. I'm excited to have a TV room, a kitchen and dining room not close to the TV and an actual Toy room!! And oh yeah... a HUGE backyard that won't have people's dog crap everywhere and Cayden can just go run. Yep it big enough I doubt he'll get bored! I am determined to make our life better and more active! Hopefully a house and our own backyard will be rhe solution to a lot of things!

Blog Stalker

My name is Jennifer Benson and I'm addicted to blogs.  So much so I kind of stalk some.  Now.. all of them I knew from High School or through my sisters.  Is that creepy?  I never comment on their blogs.  Some have great ideas about stuff.  Like for example, my monthly pictures of Creighton with his bear? Yep got that from someone I knew in HS.. A lot of them probably don't remember me cause I wasn't very popular or known in HS. Sad but true!  And I liked it that way :)

Good day. :)

Series Review

At work I listen to TONS of books! I wish I've kept count of all the books I've listened to in the 2.5 years I've worked at this job.  I think I'd be amazed at the number!

This particular series has touched me in a way that has changed me spiritually. They are LDS Fiction. There are 2 series that go with each other and they are Children of the Promise series and Hearts of the Children by Dean Hughes.  Each series has 5 books in it.

The first series takes place in the WW2 time period.  It is about the Thomas Family (fictional).  It goes back and forth between the lives of President Thomas' children.  Three of the boys go to war and one of the daughters is a nurse and goes to Hawaii to help there with the war. I'm not the best at describing books without giving the WHOLE story.  But I listened to all 5 books one right after the other.  I couldn't get enough.

Then I realized there was a second series about the children of Pres. Thomas' children.  This was near the Vietnam war.  There was so many struggles in these 5 books! I cried probably every night listening to them.  I couldn't get enough of these books either.

Last night I finished the final book and I'm kind of sad about it.  I always hate when books/series end. I get so involved in the stories!  But I would recommend these books to everyone.  They are about hope, faith and love through struggles that are beyond our control.  They taught me a lot, which you wouldn't think possible through fictional books but its true!

Eleven Months

What? I'm on time this month? My new goal for daily life is being productive and doing stuff on time! Yes, even my blog!  Updates on Creighton with pictures! :)

Creighton is such a silly boy! :) He pulls these faces ALL the time.. Remind you of anyone?

Cayden from when he was 7 months?

Here are cute pictures of him during our little 11 month photo shoot :)

He's been a little sick lately.  So in this picture Creighton was alittle out of it :) but still adorable

I thought this turned out clearer. But Cayden was in Creighton's walker thingy.  And Creighton climbed up to get Cayden! He just LOVES his brother and it keeps getting cuter!

Grandpa (and Grandma, Hannah and John) came to visit!  Creighton just LOVES his grandpa Sargent! He kept staring at him.. and playing with his mustache! So cute

This was Creighton watching John and Cayden play the Wii.. He was in a trance.

Here's another one of those faces he pulls! It looks like the flash went off but it wasn't. He was just being goofy while sitting in one of the buckets that is empty of the toys.  Its Creighton's goal I think to empty all the buckets in 5.6 seconds! haha But unbeknown to him.. we've packed up 3/4 of the toys! ha ha!

This was from today. Creighton had an accident with a very full diaper! I didn't right away put on new (dry) clothes.  He thought it was the coolest thing! And then he noticed his diapers (and his legs and belly).  He sat there forever..

Another blurry picture of the brothers! I can be in another room and just feel the love between the two! Cayden just CRACKS up Creighton! And once again I have to say, I'm excited to see the relationship grow! I just hope it gets better!! :)

We got Creighton these cute little sandals and we've been helping him walk wherever we go!  He loves when he can walk.  Its cute to see the joy and excitement on his face when he does it. He can't do it on his own but most of the time we're down to him holding only one hand.

Crawling is the preferred method anyway.  When he sees a door that he isn't allowed to go beyond open, he books it! I've never seen him crawl so fast! Its hilarious! :)

We're still working on "ma-ma" but I know that he's going to speak a lot faster than Cayden did only because Cayden talks so much and well now! He's a great example to Creighton - in good and bad ways ;)

Since I did his 10 month update 2 weeks ago, I can't find anything else to write about! :) But all in all, Creighton is awesome :) And I'm so happy to be a mommy of 2 wonderful boys! I love it - even on the hard days! I wouldn't change anything - except my attitude and laziness ;)
