Creighton's TWO!

In honor of Creighton's Birthday, I wanted to share some memories of the day he was born.

*I remember getting there at a decent hour (not 6 am like Cayden) and we waited around because my doctor had an emergency c-section.. and we didn't get in the OR til after 12.

*I loved having my mom there. She came with us to the hospital and was there waiting with my Mother and Father in law in my room.

*I remember Adam's "haz-mat" suit.  He was trying to make me laugh since I was incredibly nervous for my c-section.  he made his mask into a duck's beak and i just laughed so hard!

* The difference between this c-section and Cayden's (there are many).. but the main one is that Adam walked in with me for Creighton's.. Cayden's he was escorted in after I was prepped and ready to go.

* So he got to see me get a spinal block and the sheet get put up at the top of my belly.. Which probably was the cause of Adam passing out.

* Before I tell you that memory, I am shocked he got this picture.

Born: June 2, 2010 at 1:20 PM. 8 lbs 13 oz ~ 21 inches
He was born with the biggest head the peds nurses had ever seen.
{good thing it was a c-section then}

* So after Creighton came out, they asked Adam if he wanted to cut the cord.  Adam says no thanks and tells my anesthesiologist and the nurses that he feels like he's going to pass out. They asked him to lay on the floor but he says he didn't want to because there was blood.  and it was gross (even though it was an OR and those are supposed to be clean.  So he rolled his chair back to the wall and passed out for a good 45 seconds to a minute.  The anesthesiologist took the oxygen monitor off my finger and put it on Adam.  And the nurses got him apple juice and crackers.  As I was just laying there getting sown back up.  I just kind of laughed.  Adam got a shot to help with his nausea which actually made it worse.  I can't remember if he had to have help walking to the recovery room or not.

*On the way to the recovery room, I got to hold Creighton. I loved having him so quick after my c-section.  with Cayden, they took him after I gave him a kiss and Adam left then too to bathe Cayden (while I got sown up).

*In the recovery room, both of my boys were having troubles.  Creighton was having a hard time breathing. Not a fun experience. And Adam had to lay down on the window seat for well over an hour to get over the shot they gave him. We had to stay in the recovery room for a long time because of Adam. Not me. I was just fine.  Which was so funny.

* Also in the recovery room, before the breathing problems (which got handled quickly, they took him to the nursery to run tests), Adam's sister Cindy (who was watching John and Cayden for us) came and met Creighton. That's when my mom took John and Cayden for some lunch.

*In my real room, Creighton stayed with us after his tests.  He had pretty high blood sugar count. And was testing for jaundice. He got many, many heel pricks. He also had to do the bili lights. It was sad because he was so cold and just wanted to be held. I think it was a total of  8 hours on them.

*When Cayden came to meet his little brother, he was fascinated.  But he was also worried about the IV in my hand and why I was in the bed.  He was very cute but was also having a blast with Grandma.

* I loved holding Creighton.  I already said it but I loved that he was in our room.  With Cayden, they took him back at night so I could sleep.  With Creighton, I was right there to get him when he woke up.
He probably woke up because of Adam's snoring.

* I remember him just staring at me like "hey you're my momma.. I know you"

*there was also a very vibrant rainbow that showed up later in the day right over the hospital.
My dad captured it with his camera and we now have it hanging up in our front room. What a special day!

Happy Birthday my Tank!  you've brought so much happiness to our family.  I couldn't imagine our little family without you. You're definitely a momma's boy but I am okay with that. I am the only one who can calm you.  you love my hugs and get one at least once an hour.  You're growing so quickly! You're also learning a lot.  I love seeing you learn from what I've been trying to do with you for your speech! Any day I swear you're going to just start talking to us. I can't wait to hear your little voice! :)

I love you Creighton John Benson! I am so grateful to be your momma!

Tank and I went to a Parenting class every Thursday (minus a few weeks we were sick)
And Creighton's favorite part was this:
 And if there was a ball out of it, he would get it and put it back.

sewing again..

I'm really not trying to show off or anything like that.  I just am in shock when things come out looking good.  Trust me there are many projects in between those ties and bow ties and these I'm sharing that have gone horribly horribly wrong.  {Funny how I say many projects when its only been since Friday when I made those.}

So here we go.

 I saw this shirt at the DI a long time ago and got it because 1. it was only 3 bucks and 2. I thought it would make REALLY cute ties and bowties. Well it sat around on my bedroom floor for at least 4-5 months. Then I finally decided to do something with it, especially after making the other tie and bowtie.

the other picture wouldn't work

Then I decided to make a diaper pouch for my purse. I usually just take that with us on errands and such. But all the patterns I found were for the hard white case but I shop at Costco and get their wipes. So I needed a bigger one. I found two different patterns/directions but I couldn't make out what they meant.  Their directions were majorly confusing. So I kinda winged it. I think it looks good.

Then with our trip coming in FIVE DAYS!!!!!! I decided we needed a book holding thingy. So scoured the internet and pinterest. Couldn't find one I liked. So I winged it again.

It is super long.  I am just hoping it'll fit in the back sit in between the boys. Might even put toys in some of them. Especially for Cayden. I'm excited to see how well it does with my crazy boys.

Adam just got home and told me I need to put my sewing machine away.... haha!! I've gone a little crazy.

I did this for Creighton... and he hates it.  I thought I did all the squares the same sizes.. Apparently not.

there are somethings I should just stick to... ties, bowties and diaper pouches.
