Deer!!!!

My obsession with deer probably dates back to my one semester at Snow. My new friend, Laralee, and I went driving one night and chased down some deer in neighborhoods. We also killed some poor rabbits on accident! Later I was on my way back to my dorm after going to SLC and had to stop for a big herd to cross the small highway.

When driving on freeways I'd look for dead ones. I know, sick! There's even been a dead one on a road near our house. We don't live THAT close to mountains but we do live near a railroad and I think they follow that down.

Last night was the second time I has seen a herd late at night on my way home. The first time I followed them into a neighborhood and they were eating people's grass! I got all giddy and a bit jealous they weren't in MY yard! Haha. Couldn't get close enough that time to get a picture. But last night they were just there on the side of the road under a street light! Perfect lighting for 2 am! I can't describe my giddyness over deer. It's a bit insane but they're so cool! Maybe its growing up in Missouri and Vegas?

I absolutely love Utah for many reasons but the DEER are pretty high up on the list!

Bunch of things.

one.
Creighton had his first session with his speech therapist this morning. It was completely different than Cayden's were. But we're in different school districts since we bought our house. But this therapist, Katie, is great. She's very knowledgeable and full of ideas. From what I described from a typical day, she was able to pinpoint Creighton exactly. He loves to wrestle and be hugged. Katie says some kids crave the compressions on their bodies. Like squeezing. And I learned that Creighton uses a lot of cues I missed that he likes certain games or squeezes.

All this info came on handy not even 20 minutes later. Creighton got super cranky. All my usual helps weren't helping. He's gotten this way before and I'd just give him a bottle. This time I laid him on his back and started at his shoulders, giving somewhat hard squeezes and worked my way down. By the time I got to his ankles he was putting his feet in my hands to keep going. I continued to do this. Amazingly my busy body baby just laid there and got more and more relaxed. It was remarkable to see the change.

two.
Cayden is an attention hog when Creighton is getting it all. But I love him. He is so smart. And he just played me the first part of Twinkle Twinkle little Star on the xylophone! Crazy. I didn't teach him either. Maybe Adam played it for him. But he's a genius! He even tells me so! ;)

three.
I am 25. Weird. It sounds so old. I still feel 18 or 19 most days. But I've been married almost 5 1/2 years. I have a 4 yr old and an almost 2 yr old. Crazy!! And I'm a homeowner!! I'm shocked at my life sometimes! I'm so very happy with my life. There's tons of stress and things that go wrong but I love it. No matter what I have my family!! :)

four.
Adam is my rock star!! :) he made my birthday amazing. He has made our life together amazing!! I'm so lucky. He has made me feel pretty and worth it. He has made me confident. He is a great father!

It's my Birfday week!

In a perfect world I'd have the week off! Or even my actual birthday. But with my foot and having so many days off, I just simply forgot to ask for it off.

But I'm excited!!

The plan is to have Adam's mother come over with the crazies. We will go to lunch, get a massage and adjustment and then go shopping! I'm excited to have time with Adam alone. He has promised to make it special!

I think I feel like my birthday should be special because of how I grew up.

Every birthday morning I'd wake up to signs just for me all over the place. Some times when I was in elementary  school, my mom would get me out of school and take me to lunch and then shopping. I have very treasured memories of my birthdays. Except my 18th.... but I won't go there. Family is the only thing you can count on!!

My family Always made each birthday kid feel extra special! I have passed on some of the traditions to my kids. I just LOVE birthdays!!

Not feeling myself.

So lately I've been not feeling myself. I got what I thought at the time was a stomach bug on Sunday night. I couldn't sleep I was so nauseous and felt like running to the bathroom every five minutes. (Sorry) I was very feverish, so much that having anything rub against my skin would be painful. This lasted all of Monday too. Tuesday I woke up feeling almost 100% better.

I was excited to finally not feel chained to the bed.

Tuesday night came and I went to work. Started off good. Then by ten, I was feeling very feverish again. And then the nauseousness set in. And I was feeling the need to run to the bathroom. Not fun. Got off early due to low volume of mail.

Wednesday came and with sleep behind me I felt better. But I wasn't hungry. Food just sounded, smelled and tasted gross. But I got through the day and night. The day was far better than Monday.

Thursday, I woke up feeling about the same. Breakfast wasn't eaten. Nothing sounded good enough. I felt sick just thinking about food. But we set off to do groceries and my foot appointment.

At Costco I was suddenly STARVING!  So I got a slice of pizza. And if you don't know it is my favorite food of all time. It has even caused a fight between Adam and me.

It was amazing on an empty stomach. I wasn't nauseous anymore.
Go to dinner. Could barely eat it.

I am an eater. A picky one but obviously an eater. I wouldn't be the size I am by not eating.

So I'm confused. I'm barely eating. And I don't know why I'm feeling so sick. My body is not my friend right now. Hoping this goes away before my birfday! Not cool to feel this way on your birthday! :)

Dave Ramsey and such.

we've decided to get our financial crap together!!

so we got Dave Ramsey's book on CD and Adam's been listening to it on the way to work and back.

It has given us hope. And I'm excited to start using his ideas to help us become debt free and financially independent.  And I've come to terms that I'm going to need to work for longer if we want to get out of debt faster so that we don't have ANY debt when I quit. I don't want to quit and then go "oh crap" and have to go back. And to be able to have left over money to be able to shop. I mean what? haha

Fun fact for ya.... I just realized that the number months Adam and I were born in are the number days of the boys' birthdays.  Adam born in 09 (Sept) and cayden was born on Oct 9th.  I was born in Feb- 02 and Creighton was born on the 2nd of June. So cool huh? Maybe not but I have a big thing about numbers.

I need to do more pictures. Next time :)

day one

this morning I was a ball of nerves. shivering like crazy.

Had amazing nurses, anesthesiologist, and my foot doctor all put me at ease, making jokes and just reassuring how quick it'd be.

they gave me "happy" stuff in my IV and then gave me a mask to take deep breaths in with a "see you in a few".

woke up thinking we hadn't started yet.

apparently adam was in the waiting room for 2 yrs til he was called back when I was in the 2nd recovery room.

I got so much pain meds. and my brain is so foggy right now. I'm not a big fan of it. but I'd rather not feel the stitches in my foot. or the pain.

I have an amazing husband. he has done everything to help me without complaining :) I love him.

"a living will..."

I was going over my instructions for my surgery on Tuesday.. and there's a list of things to bring. And number 3 on the list was.. yep you guessed it.. a living will.

now, i've been "put out" before for my wisdom teeth and when I was a baby girl getting tubes.

side note- I don't have a lot of memories about my child hood but I do remember being wheeled off in a red wagon to the surgery and my uncle Ed (who was an ENT) pulling me and smiling. And then waking up to him and my mom. The red wagon might be wrong.. not sure :)

I've also had surgery - 2 c-sections. Those were major and didn't really cause as much as pain as anticipated.

But... I'm nervous.  I have this horribly morbid thought that I'm going to die on the table from a foot surgery. I'm not really sure how i feel about being "put out" and waking up in what will seem like 20 seconds.

I'm also nervous about getting an infection, having it bust open again, the pain, having to wear a boot for 3 weeks and using crutches.

I'm a ball of nerves! Probably why my face has decided that I'm a 14 year old girl again. :) yay for me! Oh.. and not to be TOO personal- but here it goes.. I'm due for my "special visitor" tomorrow too... YAY! I can't be more excited I tell ya!

Now off to clean for my Father in law who is coming over to watch the boys... Fabulous! :) our house is a wreck since I fell down my stairs. I think I can finally laugh about that now.. haha :)
