Series Review

At work I listen to TONS of books! I wish I've kept count of all the books I've listened to in the 2.5 years I've worked at this job.  I think I'd be amazed at the number!

This particular series has touched me in a way that has changed me spiritually. They are LDS Fiction. There are 2 series that go with each other and they are Children of the Promise series and Hearts of the Children by Dean Hughes.  Each series has 5 books in it.

The first series takes place in the WW2 time period.  It is about the Thomas Family (fictional).  It goes back and forth between the lives of President Thomas' children.  Three of the boys go to war and one of the daughters is a nurse and goes to Hawaii to help there with the war. I'm not the best at describing books without giving the WHOLE story.  But I listened to all 5 books one right after the other.  I couldn't get enough.

Then I realized there was a second series about the children of Pres. Thomas' children.  This was near the Vietnam war.  There was so many struggles in these 5 books! I cried probably every night listening to them.  I couldn't get enough of these books either.

Last night I finished the final book and I'm kind of sad about it.  I always hate when books/series end. I get so involved in the stories!  But I would recommend these books to everyone.  They are about hope, faith and love through struggles that are beyond our control.  They taught me a lot, which you wouldn't think possible through fictional books but its true!

Funny! I'm planning on finishing the last Children of the Promise book today. I read them all back in high school, but I've been rereading them lately because I love them. I was planning a post of the books I've read in April, so I hope you won't think I'm a copycat!

I am always sad when I finish a really good book. My husband doesn't understand how the worst part of a good book can be the ending (he's more into shorter pieces of literature).

PS: I'm following your blog now. Creeepppppyyyyy!!!! :)

Alex- No worries! I kinda copied Heather but its no way close to how well she writes her reviews!

Whitney- It all depends on the book when I actually read it.. I can't read some when I can listen to others.. Like these I don't know if zip could read them but listening to 'em was great! Now Jodi Picoult books I'm having a hard time listening but when reading them I can't stop!

Kim- I like you stalking me.... I mean following me
;) Adam's the same way.. But its so sad to finish a
really good book.. I probably get too wrapped up in the stories and the people's lives! Haha
